Building Technology

Building technology has evolved, addressing challenges and enhancing construction. Hurricane-proof tech, like reinforced materials, protects against storms in vulnerable areas. Insulation boosts energy efficiency for heating and cooling. Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) offer superior insulation and durability. Pilings ensure stable foundations in challenging terrains. Quick form columns speed up construction while maintaining strength. These innovations increase safety, resilience, and sustainability, benefitting our cities and communities for the future.

The case for insulation

Exterior concrete walls, popular in Florida, can be retrofit with new insulation, vapor barriers, and hard surface finishing.

A properly designed wall section is able to resist the transfer of heat while properly dealing with condensation on the exterior.

Energy Conservation

Have you ever wondered where the majority of the world's energy is consumed? The answer lies in our buildings. These structures alone account for approximately 40% of global energy usage, with a significant portion devoted to heating, cooling, and lighting. Our design choices when creating buildings hold immense power to impact the environment.

The devil is in the details

In the realm of design, it's common for creators to immerse themselves in extravagant concepts, inadvertently overlooking the crucial details that contribute to the essence of quality construction. We firmly believe that these finer details hold the power to either make or break a design.

Hurricane Resistant Building Technology

Hurricane-proof buildings need to be impact-resistant and structurally sound while providing protection from storm surge, flooding, and water infiltration. The entire building should be constructed to resist hurricane-force winds, from the roof all the way to the foundation, ensuring a secure anchoring throughout. Foundations should be firmly anchored and designed to resist soil movement, as storm surge flooding and winds can easily shift sandy soils, making foundation piling design a critical focus.

Structures can be designed to operate independently of the grid, achieving net-zero energy usage through solar and water capture technologies.
